For the past few weeks, I have battled with being overwhelmed.  I know I give off the impression sometimes of having no real problems in life, or at least dealing with those problems with ease.  This isn’t always the case.  Here are some of my current issues.

-I am terrified that I am going to gain the weight back.
-Big changes at work have thrown me for a loop.
-I have major project deadlines that carry a lot of pressure (both personal and professional).
-Recently Mike and I got over a minor funky phase in our relationship.
-Writing a book is a pretty daunting task.
-While it appears like I’m a social animal, I actually battle with being antisocial most days.

With all of that being said, it is impossible for me not to see the other side.

-I actually LOST 47 pounds(!)… and I know in my heart I will never see that weight on my body again.
-Yes, I have experienced big changes at work lately – but they aren’t negative and are possibly a huge opportunity to grow as a person.  Plus I am lucky to have a job that I love and that I’m good at.
-Of course I have major project deadlines that carry a lot of pressure… would I really want it any other way
-What Mike and I recently went through made us stronger.  It won’t be the last time we go through a “phase”, and I feel like I love him more than ever because of it.
-Uhhhhh…. I am writing a BOOK!!!  Could that be any cooler???
-Being social is a challenge for a lot of people, not just me.  This is why I take so many photos, it reminds me of how much fun it really is to be with your friends.  🙂

Speaking of friends, my BFF Rebecca let me borrow the next two books I’m going to read this month in preparation for NaNoWriMo.  The first is Girl on the Couch: Life, Love, and Confessions of a Normal Neurotic.  The second is The Washingtonienne.  I’m almost finished with Bridget Jones’s Diary… should be done by tonight.  Next week, I am going to read Julie & Julia, then My Life in France (by Julia Child).  I doubt I will have much more time to read anymore by November 1st.  However, I do plan to keep a few books on hand during the month of November to read at a slower pace.

Below are some photos from the Mad Men season finale viewing party that Mike and I attended last night.  The funny thing is that we don’t even watch the show… but we appreciate any chance to dress up!  😀
