Last night Mike and I decided to go to bed early since we’d had such a big weekend, so we hit the sack around 10 or so.  Just when I was starting to drift off to sleep (probably around 10:30) we were both woken up by what sounded like a million rocks hitting our house.  I jumped out of bed and yelled for Mike, and he was scrambling around trying to figure out what the hell was going on.  Turns out a random hail storm hit our area, and it literally sounded like there was a tornado outside because the wind.  Our power went out immediately, so we were both standing in the hallway with only the glow from our cellphones.  🙂  It took about 5 minutes for it to pass, then it was as if nothing had ever happened.  We walked on the porch to see if our cars were OK, and about that same time a transformer exploded right across the street from us.  All of our neighbors were outside too using their cellphones for light… it was actually kinda funny to see.   You couldn’t see the full extent of the damage until this morning, and there were trees down all over our block.  Luckily our cars made it without a scratch.  I think it was so scary b/c it was completely unexpected.  Our power didn’t get turned back on until 8:30 this morning, so a lot of our refrigerator food went bad.  Boo!!!

Because of that and the 7 miles I ran yesterday morning, I pretty much feel like a zombie today.  Luckily we have no big plans for this evening except to relax.

Tomorrow I am going to write a post about my book & the progress I’ve made with my reading assignments and planning for NaNoWriMo.  I am also keeping my fingers crossed that I can post this week about several bits of big news that I’ve been so good at keeping a secret (at least online…).  It’s becoming a lot like daily blog torture to keep my mouth shut.  🙂

If she lets me, I want to do a special post all about Vero later in the week.  Someone left a comment a few days ago asking who she was, and it’s about time I let you guys in on the awesomeness.  I am willing to share the Veronique love!
