It’s official: Mike gets to put one article of clothing back on for his bikini photo this Thursday!  He accomplished one of his 3 goals last night – to perform stand-up comedy!   Had I not already known that he was nervous, he would have fooled me with his confidence up on stage.  There is a lot that goes in to a stand-up routine, more so that I realized until I watched Mike preparing for his own performance.  First you need to have funny material to work with & have it mostly memorized, secondly you have to consider your angle & lead-ins to each story, and lastly you have to decide what your relationship with the audience is going to be.  A lot of that last one has to do with the energy in the room, but you need to be prepared for any given scenario.  Because if the audience isn’t laughing, then something has gone awry.  Mike had some solid moments up on stage and I think he has a promising future in comedy.  GO MIKE!!! I can’t wait to watch him accomplish his next two goals by the end of the year!

It’s another rainy day here in Birmingham, Alabama.  The sky cleared up just long enough this morning to get a long run in with Vero and our new running partner Brandi!!  Brandi jumped right on the bandwagon with no catch-ups required… and that’s saying a lot when running with the speed demon named Vero!  The only thing we had to figure out was how to fit three people on a sidewalk.  😀

Before Mike's first stand-up performance!
