If you are new to The Jen West Quest, please read about Mike’s year-end goals here!

So, if you’ve been following my progress over the last few weeks, I am proud to say I finished my short film script this week!  This makes 2 items that I have crossed off my list of goals.  I plan on shooting in January (crew and cast schedules permitting) and submitting it to the Sidewalk Film Festival (which is at the end of August).  The script is based on a true story that my friend David Phipps told me (FYI, David is the other half to Vero, Jen’s running partner).  Jen and I were having dinner at David and Vero’s house a few weeks back and David shared with us what is infamously known as “The Chicken Story.”  I don’t want to give too much away, but it involves a wild night of debauchery, Southern women, and a chicken suit.  It was a hysterical story and I immediately thought it would make a great short film.  It took me a few weeks of working on it at night and on the weekends, but I am very pleased with how the script turned out.  I gave David a copy of it on Wednesday and he has given me his thumbs-up, so now all I have to do is shoot it!  I will post more updates as it gets closer to the actual production.  Jen was nice enough to let me put pants on for this update, but I still have a big item left on my list before I can put a shirt on.  We’ll see if I can lose the bikini top by the end of the year.  No pressure!

The Chicken Story is written!
