HAPPY Christmas Eve to those who celebrate!  For everyone else, happy December 24th!  😉

Today I’m taking advantage of the sunny weather and knocking out my long run before the weekend.  I WILL do 20 miles, no excuses or detours.  I’ve got it mapped out and I’m ready to go!  It’s been a good week for me to get some miles under my belt and I’m feeling more and more confident each day about my first marathon in February.  Here is my mileage breakdown for the week:

Monday:  Off
Tuesday:  a.m. – 6 miles with Vero;   p.m. – 3 miles @ the gym + strength
Wednesday:  a.m. – 4 mile hilly route with Vero & Brandi;   p.m. – 3 miles @ the gym
Thursday:  hill repeats, total of 3 miles + strength
Friday:  20 miles
Saturday:  Off
Sunday:  Start Half Ironman training – Run 5-6 miles + swim 30 (I got my new swimsuit in!!)
Total mileage for the week:  44-45

I’m feeling a little out of sorts this morning for some reason.  While I know I can do this long run today, it’s still very intimidating.  It’s comforting to break it down mentally into 5 mile sections, so I’m going to approach it that way.  I just need to buckle down and get it out-of-the-way so I can enjoy the rest of the day!!

Tonight we will spend the night at my parent’s house, something I love to do the night before Christmas.  🙂  We will all have a nice dinner together then wake up bright & early for a hot breakfast.  And don’t forget the eggnog!!!  😀  I’ll post some fun photos tomorrow. I am so very thankful to have such a wonderful family to spend the holidays with.

Since I forgot to post Mike’s progress yesterday (got distracted by writing Fiberlicious), I’ll include it in today’s post.  He is still making great strides, but looks like he isn’t going to finish his 3rd goal by the end of the year.  I’ve got to figure out some sort of punishment!!!  😀
