Spring has sprung, the grass has ris’,
I wonder where the birdie is?

There he is up in the sky,
He dropped some whitewash in my eye!

I‘m alright, I won’t cry,
I’m just glad that cows can’t fly!

I’m not sure who wrote that poem, and yes, I realize that it isn’t the original version.  😀  I just like this one better.  Anything for a smile!

It’s going to be in the 80’s today and throughout the weekend here in Birmingham, Alabama.  And it’s only the middle of March!!!  When you walk outside, you are immediately hit with the smell of new blooms and new life.  Trees are starting to burst with color and birds are singing.  And yes, that one crazy bird is still living on our porch harrassing our cats on a daily basis.

I have my first swim lesson with Coach Cal this afternoon, and I’m really excited to hear what he has to say about my freestyle stroke.  I’m really proud of myself for getting so much better all on my own though.  And on that note, I’m really proud of how I’ve dealt with my unfortunate knee injury too.  While it’s been hard to deal with it emotionally, physically I do everything I can every single day to make it better.

After physical therapy this morning, I’m going with my mom to Oak Mountain to kayak. 😀  I’ve been so excited to do it for weeks, and finally I have the time and the good weather to do it in!  We are going to put on our SPF 80, hats & protective sun gear… then soak up some rays.  😉  Actually, I have a feeling that this will be very effective cardio cross training for me while I’m still unable to run or bike.

I’m going to leave you with a smiling baby today – my niece Lily Bean!  😀  I hope your Friday is wonderful.  Love to you all.

When you're smilin', the whole world smiles with you!
