At dinner last night with my friend Chez Knox (Rox), she helped me realize that we have different “seasons” of life that come & go.  Some are good, some not so good… some short and some long.  You can’t have the good without the bad sometimes.  If nothing else, it helps you appreciate and recognize when things are going the way you really want them to.  It’s strange… even though things are hard right now I can still see that I am tremendously lucky in so many ways, and I know that when the clouds blow over the sun is going to shine brighter than ever before.  I am viewing this “season” of my life like the middle of a really hard race – sometimes you just don’t know if and how you can finish, but when you do… it is all worth it and so much more rewarding than you could have ever imagined.

While taking a shower this morning amongst all of the baby toys, I came across a water proof book called “Mimi’s Toes”.  For some reason I decided to read the back of it while my conditioner was setting, and a light bulb off went off in my head.  It said, “We know that babies are passionately curious.  They are fascinated by the sights and sounds around them, and every moment of every day is an opportunity for discovery.”  Why can’t this be true for adults as well?  I would love for that to be a description about myself.  Wouldn’t you?  A big lesson from a piece of plastic this morning.  🙂
