It was a scary and devastating night here in Alabama due to the multiple tornadoes touching down yesterday.  We had a pretty close call ourselves only being about 4 miles away from one of the biggest.  You could feel the tension & terror on Facebook & other social media sites as it happened live.  While several tornadoes were caught live on TV as they happened, the first one I saw myself was the one that went through Tuscaloosa (which was the same one that went right by us about an hour or so later).  Watching that footage was like an out-of-body experience.  Earlier in the day a tornado in Cullman (about 45 minutes north) was also filmed lived.  I’ve included links to all of these below.

The craziest part of all is the fact that we were so close, but the weather was so calm at our house.  We knew we could probably even see it if we weren’t hunkered down in the basement.  But from the small windows we could access not a rain drop was falling and barely a breeze in the trees.  So eerie.  We woke up to much colder weather today, but the sun is shining and the birds are chirping.  Now it’s time for all of the communities hit to start cleaning and rebuilding.  My thoughts are love are going out to everyone going through this process.
