After seeing My Morning Jacket for the second time in my life last night, I’m ready to commit.  Jim James, will you be mine?  He has officially been added to my “top 5” list of hottest men in the world.  This guy oozes testosterone.  And it’s not just his appearance, it’s his confidence and talent that make him so sexy.  Plus, he yells a whole lot.  I think the Chez Knox Rox and I talked about him for the full hour car ride home.  Hot damn.

The concert experience last night was VERY different from my Bonnaroo one, which I’m sure you can imagine.  Since it was in Tuscaloosa, there were a lot of college students there and several times the crowd broke out into “Roll Tide” chants.  I’m not sure what the bands thought about all of that, but it was still a lot of fun nonetheless.  I also wore the wrong shoes for a concert (I should know this by now…) so my feet were pretty sore by the end.  All I can say is that I can’t wait to see My Morning Jacket again!!!  It was an amazing concert, as usual.

On the way back Chez and I drove through some of the tornado’s destruction path, which was the first time I’ve gotten to see it first hand.  It was beyond devastating and too terrible for words to describe.  I hope this benefit concert that Phosphorescent, Niko Case and My Morning Jacket put on brought some much need attention to an ongoing recovery.

So after getting home at about 1:30 a.m. this morning, I had to get up at 6 to volunteer for a work related charity event.  So I am definitely running on empty as I write this post today.  As a matter of a fact, as soon as I finish this I am taking a very long nap.  🙂

I ate at my first Birmingham Restaurant Week restaurant yesterday, Ted’s, and I plan to post my raving review for them in Monday morning’s post.  Even if you don’t live here I think you will enjoy the story of the family who runs the restaurant.  Can’t wait to share it!

The Chez Knox Rox and I.

Chez snapped this while we were waiting. We got there eeeeeearly.

This belonged to a friend. Wish it was mine!

Phosphorescent opened for the evening. They have some local boys in the band!

My Morning Jacket - LOVE.
