I had a really great Valentine’s Day. I got a few cards and small gifts, which made me feel all giddy inside.  After work I went to the J Clyde to meet my friend Courtney for drinks, then eventually my sister Rachel & her fiance David (plus two of their friends) joined us for a three-course meal they were offering for the holiday.  My choices were the leek & potato soup, then the duck tagliatelle, followed by the best piece of tiramisu I’ve ever eaten in my life.  Rachel got all the opposites so we could enjoy everything off of the menu.  Unfortunately later that night I made a discovery…tiramisu is made with espresso.  Eeeeks.  This girl didn’t go to sleep until about 4 a.m. b/c of that.  I am so sensitive to caffeine that I literally never consume it, for multiple reasons.  It took a few hours of tossing and turning to figure out what I had done since it’s been so long.  Despite my very literal 2 hours of sleep last night, I feel surprisingly awake at the moment.  Maybe I’m still riding the high… 😉

I have pretty big plans for my birthday weekend extraordinaire.  Friday night I am having dinner with a few friends before heading off to the sold-out Lemonheads concert at Bottletree.  I love some 90’s music…so it’s the perfect way to celebrate a new year of life.  Saturday I am going to a big art ball with my friend Vero here in town that we get to dress up for again, then Sunday is my official birthday party with friends and family.  It’s going to be a “me” weekend from beginning to end.

After all that commotion, I’m going on what my friend Misty is calling a “social diet.” 🙂  Only because I want to save some money and really make some things happen over the next month or two that will require a lot of focus.  Honestly, just going to the coffee shop fulfills a social need for me, so I might be living there during all my free hours in the foreseeable future.  Sounds like fun to me!
