It’s 2014, and there is much to say. Since I wrote last, we left Cincinnati and met my family at the beach for a few days, then returned to Atlanta just in time for NYE. December was wonderful, but also way too much. By the time we got home I was so glad to sleep in our own bed. I am grateful, though, for special memories made with both our families this holiday season. I think another reason this season was a little overwhelming for me was due the excitement pending in the year to come.
There is quite a bit I want to do. It will require a lot of courage, discipline (in abundance) and focus. A lot of people I know don’t do resolutions. They think they are doomed to fail. Even a lot of what I set out to do will change a little, and some will change completely. Personally, I do really well with the “reset” state of mind of January. In fact, I thrive on short-term and long-term goals. They make me excited about my life.
While I’m not going to share what my resolutions are this year (unlike years past), I will say this: I’m ready to do some life-changing projects. I want to make even more opportunities for myself through creative pursuits. I am dedicated to giving them my all. I want to write and make stories that you will never forget.
Also through these projects, I want to explore and absorb new environments and people like a sponge. I want to make a point of appreciating experiences as I’m living them. I want to also enjoy my time alone, of which there will be a lot of as I plug away.
Happy New Year to YOU, my friends, who are always there with me… I hope I’m there for you as well.
