As most of you know by now, we did it!! We reached our fundraising goal on Seed&Spark, thanks to YOU. Thank you thank you thank you!! It’s not quite time to let loose yet…as we are officially two weeks out from when our cast & crew will be arriving in Atlanta, GA to start filming this project. That’s equally scary and exhilarating. There is so much to do, so it’s buckle down time. All good things.

Today we travel to Birmingham, AL for the Sidewalk Film Festival – literally one of my favorite times of the year! This is when we celebrate all we’ve done in the last year to the highest degree. Maybe even more importantly, this is the time of year that we celebrate film in general and all of those who create in this medium. There are several festivals close to our hearts out there, but this one is always a homecoming. If you live in Birmingham (or somewhere nearby) I hope you consider attending to see what it’s all about. A good test is to attend the opening night film, which will then lead into the biggest block party/low country boil on the Birmingham streets that you’ve ever seen. Our music video Call Me (for St. Paul and the Broken Bones) will be playing in a shorts block Saturday night at 9 at the ASFA Black Box. I hope to see you there!

Another note for Birmingham folks: I am honored to be speaking on Friday at the AAF luncheon about my experiences with crowdfunding, while also hitting on some of my favorite aspects of the Sidewalk Film Festival. Please join me.

I feel like there are so many things to share at the moment, but I’m drawing a complete blank. Every day is full of excitement of some sort, whether scary or thrilling (usually both in some capacity). I think the key word in that sentence is “full”… my life is full of wonderful. Right now full for me means satisfied with forward progress, creativity and activity. Sometimes full means overcome with quiet and time to reflect. Other times it means full with the love that surrounds you from family, friends and furry babies. I’m far from empty and refuel often on the things that keep me going.

Thank you for having interest in my personal journey all of these years. That also energizes me beyond words. I hope I’ve shown many of you the same support you’ve shown me.
